^^I agree, only I wish it was functional. We should look into getting these made.
if you had a stock celica 3sgte in ther eit would be functional.

Would it be possible to actually have a functional hood scoop installed on the Camry? I know that the intake is off on the driver's side, but I'm down with asymmetry. The only issue is with making it fit with the intake... but I suppose if you had an aftermarket intake or modded the stock box you could do it. Only trouble then would be with water...
Anyone know how much this would cost? Say, a hood from the junkers, a hood scoop (even from the junkers again), and either a replacement air intake or mods to the existing one? Labour shouldn't cost too much... being an experiment I'd do it myself or get someone I know to do it for me...
a good mechanic is like a good bj giver- you always go the person that gave the service to you, and if they are not available - you just sit at home and fiddle with the problem yourself until a substandard result is met

Maybe about $175-200 making a working custom intake, the hood scoop, hood and fiberglass to DIY. Seriously, diy that way you save money and learn from experience because its easy to fiberglass and cut and put pipes together. But you may need to go get the pipe bent if you don't have a pipe bender
That's not to bad for the hood and intake... I may actually consider it. Do you think there would be any benefit to an intake like this, or would it be pretty much the same as the stock intake and hood? As for the pipe-bender, don't have one but I think I can get one. I've got access to welders though, although they're just torch welders, not arc welders. Don't really have anywhere to use them, sadly... and as for the actual intake, is there any particular shape/kind that I should use? Short ram, CAI, modded stock box?

Well, I wouldn't mind doing the intake to save fuel... I'm cheap that way. Besides, hood scoops look cool, and custom intakes possibly sound/look/perform better than stock, so a combination of both would be pretty damn cool. Besides, $200 isn't that bad of an investment. I'd just have to sort out how to make it so that when I'm driving in the rain I don't get much into the intake... but about CAI, I thought some people disliked it because they saw a drop in milage, or was that just the Short Ram intakes? I'm pretty sure I understand all the concepts behind the different intakes, but would I actually get better milage? (Runs to check the CAI FAQ as well...)

I have no clue about the mileage drop. Yeah, I wouldn't call anything on your car and investment lol
As for the rain, I forgot the name of it, but there's a sponge thing you put on your pipe to keep the water out.
That works... although after reading the Gen 3 custom CAI I'm tempted just to do something like that instead... it just seems to make more sense... Then again, some spoilers don't make sense... or non-functional hood scoops...
