4th Generation How to remove the extra power tap in 99 camry?

I just replaced the cigarette lighter with an aftermarket one. That was pretty simple.

The extra power tap is also bad and needs replaced. Is there any secrets to get it out? I can't seem to get it out. I can't get my hands in there very well. I have the ashtray and radio bezel out. I'm sure there has to be an easy way and I just don't know. Any suggestions?

I think he means the cigarette-lighter type plug just below the actual cigarette lighter itself. It's covered by a little flap. As for removing it, I've got no clue...

if so all u got to do is pull it out. it has no screws only clips. so all u got to do is get a good grip on it be the shifter and pull up and outward. put the shifter on neutral to make things easier

I took off the black trim around the shifter that's connected to that extra 12v plugin so you couldn't see scratch marks on the front of it. It just takes a flathead to get that off. when u get the trim out (unplug the 12v plug too)you only need to push two little flaps in on the back of the plug with a flat head and it pops out.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I did mean the extra power source below the cigarette lighter. I will give it a try this weekend.
