3rd Generation Need info on R/P replacement

All,
New to the group and happy with my choice on all accounts - car & forum.
As of a week ago, I now own a 95 Cam LE V6 Auto, 152K. After the one week shake down we have the following:

1) Rack is leaking from the bellows left side. I guess it could be either seal but the bellows on the left lets it drip 1 qt in 400miles.
How hard is it to replace?
How far can I lower the engine cradle before I wreck stuff?
Are there any special tools required?
Should I check anything else before I yank the R/P?

2) There is cam speed tick from the front bank (just one of the 24). Engine noise quickly hides it at RPM, I can only hear it at idle. Hopefully some fluid/filter changes will make it happy? Idle is smooth and it pulls good to 6K.

Need attention as time permits:
*) Driver side door lock, only unlocks, won't lock the car. It won't turn to the left (NBD).
*) Does it have the dealer installed door remotes switch, if so - get a remote...
*) Tuner needs to go, Supertuner III MP3 coming soon. This looks almost more painful than the rack!

Looking forward to any info on the rack replacement -
Thanks,
/ra

Here is a link to the thread that has the Toyota Repair manual for your car. Best place to start. WIll give you all info on replacing rack and can find information on testing the door switch also.

As for thestereo it is a a piece of cake. Take a small screwdriver and pry the bottom of the trim out a little bit and it will pop off. You will be prying in between the vinyl part of the lower dash and the plastic trim that surrounds the stereo and cig lighter. Once you get that off you will see 4 8mm screws thta hold the radio in. Remove those screws and the entire radio assembly comes out. You can even find directions on this in the repair manual.

3rd Generation Another Rack job: Tks Chris

Hey, Thanks for the info. I did find those PDF's very helpful.! From past experience, the last thing I want to do is yank anything in the cab apart (greasy dude under car in cloth interior [NOT]). I plan to look at the option of dropping the cradle a tad to get the input shaft disengaged from the column. it shouldn't take much. Just so long as the front of the cradle stays put, it shouldn't mess the alignment up other than toe once I screw the rear section back to the cab.
I feel this pain coming this weekend. Also will be tossing a set of axels in. Lefty lost the boot. No noise, no vibes, just a mess so far.
Parts cost in the local area:
Reman Rack: $175 - 20% if I drop the core when I pick up the parts.
Axels:
Both have same P/N and run: $58.25 - 20% (same deal). I think he said "ARI" is the Remanufactures Brand, hope they go the distance!

Thanks,
/ra
