Hello people! I posted a thread a month or so ago about my intake; I had my intake cone filter sitting behind the radiator( note this was colder then where it was before) , however after examining the engine bay I found a gap inside the engine bay, next to the radiator on the driver side which ran into the fender. So I put the filter in the fender and ran intake running to it! Just to let you Gen 5 and 5.5 guys know if you didn’t already! You can run filter into the fender! Also there are some unused screw holes, two I believe, so you can mount a support bracket for the filter inside the fender. However you must remove the gravel guard to get to the fender. I plan on working on some stainless steal tubing to replace the according tubing in the future! Do you know where I should go to do this? When I first put the Weapon R shortram intake on the pipe connected to the intake manifold would be hot! When I located the filter behind the radiator it was less hot, however the pipe was still warm to the touch. Once I located the filter to the fender the pipe is cold, freezing!
JOSHKENNEDY, i have my intake coming from the fender as well...but just wondering...are you afraid of hitting and big puddles and the watter getting in? i mean, the only thing really protecting it is the gravel guard.

Kind of thats why I keep an extra cone filter in the trunk so I can pop it back on the pipe. When I think its safe I'll just pop back on the according hose. O by the way what are you using the according hose from autozone to run it down in to the bumper?
i actually got a stainless steel pipe running down behind the bumper, i also have a code filter on it as well..but just concerned about water getting in still. all of the stock intake is gone...

la la la same routing for all camrys i dont have a vent beside the radiator opening in my front bar so i had to run it to the bottom. my front undershield is 3 parts so its still functional helpin gthe radiator.
theres no need for pics, you just run the piping to where the resonator used to be (3" tight squeeze). you can also reuse the 2 bolt hole that the resonator used to be attached with for mounting hard pipe too.

Instead of the flexi pipe go to a MUFFLER shop and get them to bend up some 3" pipe to
go wherever you want. If ya feel like splurging go STAINLESS while you're @ it !

water - no problems, car doesnt have enough vacuum to draw water up that far. and if it did, nothing but a little water injection which is good

you wouldnt want anything but stainless as rusing intake pipe = bad bad bad
oh and not tho mention that stainless woul dbe around 10x time price of a flexi hose
also it would have to be 2.25/2.5" to clear the gap properly on aus cars because we have go around the ECU loom which is like 1" thick.

not sure if these pics are good enough...pretty much the pipe goes under the battery. there is a gap that goes right behind the fender, right above the gravel guard. i had a choice to cut the pipe and make it to a short ram..but i personally don't think that there is enough cold air in tat area.
TERRASTRIFE: i know that there would not be enough suction to suck up any water..but let's say you run over a huge puddle....then what? if any water gets it...does it not mess your whole engine up>
