I asked Super Kaioken how he removed his from his rubber hangers... he said, "Lots of WD-40 and THE MUSCLE!!" by which he was referring to using shear force.

Doesn't seem like a good method then eh!??

Any penetrant like WD40, RP7, lithium lube etc will do. Just spray and use a flat blade screwdriver and it should slip right on out with a bit of force. Of course, make sure your face isnt in the way when it comes out.

As far as the flange bolts, get a longer wrench or a breaker bar. Or get a pipe and put it over the handle of your current wrench and use that. The longer the handle, the more torque you have on the bolt. I don't think its worth getting a mechanic to do it. I wouldn't, personally.

looks like its time for you to hit the gym.

when trying to undo the flange bolts, be careful not to strip them otherwise you'll have a harder time trying to get it off yourself.

however, if you don't want to do it yourself, just get a pro to do it. it will be quicker and less painful.

I would just cut them off and replace them with new.

Here is a exhaust hanger tool, if you wanted one...
