My 1998 Camry makes a squeaking noise when I go over speed bumps or other larger bumps in the road. It happens even when I am not applying the brakes. What could be causing this?
It could be your springs. When the rubber wears out it will cause the squeaks over bumps. Mine is doing it also and am lookin' to get some plastic tubing to put on the spring to stop the noise. Anyone else have any suggestions?
struts, have you replace them before?? i was having this problem last year, but since I replaced my struts n springs its abit better now. but theres still abit of the squeaky noise.
I is probably your strut mounts, I had a loud clunk on mine on my corolla on the right side. I replaced the struts and the mounts myself.........lets just say I should have put the boot insulators back in, which I didn't and now I get a squeak-clunk, more of a squeak on the right and a clunk on the right. Just make sure you have a mechanic do it or follow the directions in haynes manual very close and have a impact wrench and a torque wrench as well. It was not easy for a first timer like me, honestly I don't know if I would do it all over again. I saved $200, but it was a hard earned $200.
