Unhappy Camry curse strikes again! *PICS ADDED*

That's right....my car in an accident...3 car, to be exact.

in a nutshell (5-car situation, all in one lane)):
- car#1 (Ford SUV) decides to pull a U-turn out of the blue
- car#2 brakes, honks, was able to swerve out of the way into free lane
- car#3 (BMW SUV)slams on brakes (frightened)
- car#4 (me) slams on brakes, but unable to stop in time and "nudges" car#3
- car#5 (taxi) prolly not paying attention and slams into car#4 (me)
- car#1 completes turn, glances back at us (asshole), and takes off
- car#3 incurs no damage from me (plastic bumper) and is allowed to leave

so, I now have front and rear damage:
1) my hood is slightly folded in at the front (can't get it open)
2) driver-side headlight is pushed in (want to fix, but refer to #1)
3) some "ticking" sound coming from engine bay (again, refer to #1)
4) rear bumper is busted....scrapes, paint missing, cracked at one corner
5) front bumper SHOULD be salvageable (missing paint)

*sigh* I know that some of you may find this as a perfect opportunity to do some modding to the car, but for me (and my wallet) it's like an uppercut from Tyson (or getting my ear bitten off).

Anyone in T.O. have a trusted mech/body shop that can give an accurate estimate of damages?? Ins. company isn't gonna pay a dime since I'm only 3rd-party insured, but I know that my rates are gonna soar. I'll post pics later, when I've finished sulking

it would be ur insurance tat pays you, it should be the guy tat hit u paying from his insurance.
what u do is, not tell ur insurance at all and deals with their insurance after u get the police report saying that its their fault.

Question What The ??

In Australia, if not the WORLD the guy that rear ended you PAYS for the REAR DAMAGE !

No matter why you stopped he was TOO CLOSE to stop in time JUST as YOU were

when you hit the car in front...

Why isn't HIS Insurance covering you ??

I know someone in Australia that hit someone but then someone ran up behind him too. He then argued that the person behind pushed him and so the person behind pays for all of the damage. But usually, if you hit someone, no matter what the cause it. it is your fault.

Even if it is a broken down car on a highway, they'll say you should be paying attention.

But good luck on getting everything fixed =)

Man, too bad you couldn't take down that dude's plate number. Some people just don't know how to drive, and if you tell them up to their face that they don't know how to drive, they get personal and pissed off. Good time for a one finger salute to that ass who did a u-turn.
