i want to get an intake now that i've got some money saved up and the box got annoying to look at =/ well anyway.
How do you guys make an intake? I was thinking about starting off with ^^ that up there. and adding on with some type of hosing. Where do you get the garabe hose looking stuff at? Would the intake up ^^ have the spots to hook up the Vacuum hoses, sensors, and such?

lol just get 1 from ebay, and get a better filter. The thing you are really buying is the aluminium pipe with the places to plug your hose and meter on. Then get some silicon joiners with fasteners and go to an exhaust shop to make some more piping if you want to extend it.
They are like US$7 + shipping.
maybe about $40 worth of piping and $30-40 filter =)
It'll cost about the same as the one above.
BTW ^^ they are approximations =P

You can't just get one from ebay, they only sell the weopon r for this year and make camry.
i was thinking that they mean the solara but i PMed the guy just to make sure......i'll be back with the answer later on. if it does fit then i'll just buy that and extend it somehow and modify it. i'm thinking that my intake is making the whistling noise and i'm gonna just get rid of the box and spend some money to fix it. plus i like the sound of a CAI/SRI

I made that with electrical piping from lowes, it was arond $3 for a foot long section of 3" od painted aluminum, the plumbing fittings were the most expensive part, it runs a few inches into my fender where the resonator used to be and into a cone filter, and no you will not hydrolock your engine by running it into the fender, my filter doesnt even get wet when its pouring outside.
edit added more pics

oooh.......that's electrical piping? i'm trying to save money on building my own......maybe i should take a walk around lowes and check it out.......a 3" diameter pipe fits it a K&N filter?
oh btw.....this is offtopic but recently my friend removed his front bumper to get it painted and he has a cai......so you can basically see his filter......well it's been around 30 degrees down here and he says he's beating the cars that he used to not be able to.

fits right into a cone filter last time i found the pipe it was in the lighting isle right by the light posts you put outdoors, its great stuff, wont ever rust and the paint has been in my engine bay over a year and its only dirty, doesnt flake or anything. Cant beat it!

eww, you will have to engineer all that man, but at least if you do it youll know what to expact instead of buying an ebay intake with a generic pic that may or may not fit, how many lines are hooked up to the intake past the throttle body?

ok......the ebay guy said it didn't fit even though it specifically said to 99-02 camry which is dumb. he said to go look at the solara intakes which may fit.. i just need a generic intake that'll supposed curve the right way so it'll fit....
i think i'm going to autozone to check it out.....or buy that MIMO one up there ^^ in my first post. but that's $110....=/
by the way, i'm an engineering in training too ^^ are you going to MSU anytime soon?
