Limited Slip Differential aka LSD Pro's and Con's??

A topic I seen that hasn't really been covered for the Camry's are the LSD's.
It sparked my curiousity when I heard it adjusts the power between the wheel whether it be cornering or a straight road. It also puts the power to both wheels (on a straight road) and allows the car to take off without and slipping (hence lsd).
Now, what would the cons be?
I was told a theory of there would be too much grip that you would actually lose acceleration by this test: Put your hand on the table and push forward sliding your hand lightly. Now pretend you have an LSD, push your hand more than firmly on the table and push forward, which will take off faster? I don't know if this is good to go by because I would think all the power goes to the wheels since it would have the right amount of traction.

Well, if anyone can post any arguments, pro's, con's etc., I can further decide (and as a community) if it's really a worth while mod.

my friends all got LSD on der cars.. it's perfect for track but gets really annoying when your parking your car. it shakes like crazy when your steering wheel is turned all the way to the side. i guess this would be a Con. and for pro i heard no complaints on ek9 eg6 or dc2's stock lsd or from tuners

I know the guys looking for big power all put in LSD's. IIRC thats one of the reasons UFOZ is planning to replace his tranny.

LSD is needed for traction, but pretty annoying for daily drivers, depending on which LSD you get. Most OEM LSDs are not bad, but my Cusco is pretty annoying with all the shakes and shimmies.

best burnouts ever

what is better - wheelspin on one wheel
Both wheels having traction for the whole take off and gear changes?

Yeah, I think it might be a good thing to have. I've never used it, and I would be wary of the apparent excessive vibration, but I don't see the connection to the palm and the table. If you're talking about your palm being the tire, you're trying to push the table away from you, which is good to have more friction. However... if there's more friction inside the differential for any reason, then you could start wearing stuff out.

Just my $0.02.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, my car is a daily driver and still willbe after it's turboed for a long time...so since this limits the slippage, will that mean any power lost from the wheels would be gained back?
