Question Camry O2 Sensor Trouble

I have a 1999 Toyota Camry CE 2.2L 4-Cyl with 109,000+ miles on it.

I have been having some trouble lately with the "Check Engine" light staying lit. I took the car to my mechanic to see what the problem was. He hooked it into a hand-held diagnostic computer that spit out six different codes that pointed to something wrong in Emissions (or so he said). He looked for a "Mass Airflow Sensor" and didn't find one. He then recommended that I get the O2 Sensors replaced for a fat $460 bucks. I am however not mnade of money and so I looked for an alternative. I purchased a new Upstream O2 Sensor (which my mechanic said was probably to blame) made by Standard. The sensor installed with no trouble until I got it out on the road. I have noticed now that while accelerating it "jerks" sort-of. As I am accelerating it doesn't accelerate smoothly. (I am not good at this. lol) I have also noticed that since the O2 Sensor went in that the car runs better on start-up and that the strange odor from the exhaust has disappered. Apart from this little road bump the car seems to be OK. It did not use as much gas as it has been in my travels today to and from church. So.... Does anybody have any recommendations? Maybe I am overreacting to something relatively normal? Help!

Unfortunately, my mechanic never said what the codes were exactly. Sorry.

Autozone will read the codes for free. If the check engine light is still on or if it comes back on take it to them and write down the codes they give you. Then report back here or go to this website yourself:

OK here are the codes that I got:

P1133
P1135

My other question is: If I change one O2 Sensor, do I have to change both?

O2 Sensor I purchased is STANDARD Model No.# SG352

All help is greatly appreciated!

P1133=Air-Fuel Sensor Circuit Response.
P1135=Air-Fuel Sensor Heater Circuit Response.

Did the mechanic erase the codes after he/you replaced the O2 sensor?

I replaced it and then erased the codes by resetting the computer. I took the NEW O2 sensor out today as we are getting some snow and I didnt want to be out in the weather with the way it was running.

So the OLD O2 Sensor is in the car and it's running fine, but it still uses more gas than it should.

Those codes were generated while the NEW O2 Sensor was in.

Is there a difference between a Air/Fuel Sensor and an O2 Sensor?

Which brand are those?

The STANDARD I purchased is Japanese. "Made in Japan"

By resetting the Computer I mean pulling the negative terminal on the battery and letting everything drain of power. It worked to reset the dummy light.
