3rd Generation Exhaust for Christmas - Need some help.

95 cam 2.2l 5sfe

2.25 piping

I want to go all out from Catback and then headers down the road. Im getting most of this on ebay, cause its pretty cheap and free shipping!

Flex pipe - dont know what to get, saw some generic ones on ebay for cheap, shouldnt make a difference should this?

Resonator - The stock one is okay, but i scored one of my friends maxima, seems to be a little bigger and kept his maxima pretty quiet (with just the resonator)

Cat - Not so sure on this. I want to get a Magnaflow HIgh Flow cat. Seen a few different ones. not sure on which one. also, is there an O2 sensor IN the cat or before.. or what?

Muffler - Definetly want a dual tip magnaflow

Piping - 2.25 mandrel bent.

seems good? how much should I expect to pay for shipping? I want to put flanges on my muffler and rest of the piping.

Also should I be worried about CEL light? I just installed my friends maxima exhaust and its throwing codes because he has no precats so the o2 sensors are going nuts

start from the front....

headers,

cat

then the rest.

or if you just want the bling bling start from the back then front again..

muffler

headers,

cat

piping

remember cats not going to make too much of a difference (screw what ppl belive) th stock toyota cat is quite large. unless its partially blocked/clogged that is.

somewhere between getting the cat and the rest of the system, get an safc2 or something, so you actually make some useful numbers, or ya not gonna be impressed

Well. Headers by Zoni will be made around January time because the Ripp Mods header GB isnt going anywhere.

The cat is rather old, some dents and dings on it from my car being lowered and being 10 years old. Its time for a new one and its not bad in price. I want to get piping done from cat back so when i get headers very little has to be modded to get them to fit (unless zoni makes a direct bolt on) which would be better. Not to mention I cant really afford headers, because i cant pawn those off for christmas lol.

SAFC2 will be around birthday time hopefully (feb)

Generic flex pipe will be fine and its worth it
If you go with an aftermarket cat the 02 needs to be before the cat with no air hole on the cat
dont be afraid to put resonators on there they will not hurt performance and will make it sound so much better!
FYI about the magnaflows they are known for droning inside the car, they sound great outside though, you may want to consider a borla universal. but both are good.

Shipping will depend on a lot of things, I just bought a universal high flow cat and a flex pipe with flanges from a company on ebay and they combined shipping

for 1 cat, 1 10" long 2.5" id flex section, and 8 3-bolt flanges I paid $35 S&H

the sellers store name is first choice auto parts http://stores.ebay.com/First-Choice-...toreviewQQtZkm

I have a Magnaflow and I love it. I only have an axle-back setup though but it still sounds deep and not ricey.

i did a full catback no resonator. not too loud but noticable. stuck a resonator on and it helped, less drony and more refined, but can still get pretty loud with 5 people in the car.

and i agree, dual tips are sexy =)

my cat was 11 years old.. it was not blocked at all so changing to a hiflow magnaflow made no difference.

resonators dont hurt performance = bullshit. a resonator is a muffler. a sprial resonator hurts evne more then a muffler, preformance wise, and these are the ones you actaully want....straight though reonsators suck **** and dont do squat. exhaust performance.. pretty much stops at first resoator... use this to defie your overall pipe length (differnet lengths = different performance etc) consider it the first muffler in a dual muffler set up.

I may be selling my ripmodds header a couple months from now. I could probably hold that for you along with a the short pipe. And yes, that setup is perfectly fine and is very similar to what I had. I went with an Apexi N1 Muffler with no resonator
Headers just got 5K on them

Oh, I might add, the headers also come with a short pipe and are way longer than the stock cat altogether. You'll have to lengthen the wire to the lower o2 sensor about 5-6ft or so that way it can reach the cat under your car. You might want to wait on the piping. All you might be doing is replacing your current one, buying the headers and come to find out that you need to change your pipe again

you wanna get technical exhaust performance pretty much stops with any pipe after the manifold, if you have a good setup with no crush bent pipe and some good resonators you are not loosing that much power and the way the exhaust note sounds will be that much better.
