Lo-beams are 9006, Hi-beams are 9005. If you want more light output on your Lo-beams you can modify the 9005 bulbs (there's a how to on the Camry FAQ) to fit on your lo-beam socket.

Look up your year and light numbers. I personally suggest spending a few dollars more and going with the Sylvania Silverstars. Much improved light output i.e. visibility in all conditions. Jon.

Maybe he's asking about the Kelvin number? The pure white is between 4800K to 5200K. Get SilverStars... they're very white.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

3rd Generation Low Beam Mods - what if you chuck the deflector?

A question to those who have done the lens mod (sanding the ridges out) or have taken the housing apart.

Has anyone pulled that cylinder shaped metal reflector off when you had the housing apart? If so did it help?

The low beams suck and need the bulb upgrade ASAP!

Just curious.....

Thanks,
/randy

silver stars ROCK!!! youll definately notice the diff. get em at advance for about $20-$30, depending on sale, i got mine for 20, well worth it. oh and i wouldnt recomend taking out any of the reflectors, they (i believe) push the light back toward the larger reflector, to make it spread evenly throughout your lense, if you take it out, i doubt youd be able to see quite as well.
(smarter people correct me if im wrong please)

Why does everyone say that the silverstars are so great. I had some and they didn't look white at all. Maybe my bulbs were retarded? I don't know. What I do know is they looked just like my old bulbs, which were 11 years old from the factory when we bought the car, except they were slightly brighter.

Just my 2cents

Yea......... Silverstars suck. They do put out a bit more light, but my experience is that they last less than a year. I used them in my truck and got 9 months out of one and 12 months out of the other, in very light use. Regular bulbs usually last 3 to 6 years!

Phillips 9005 Blue Vision are what I have in my Lows and all I can say about them is

They are Bright white I would say 80% brighter than my previous 13 year old bulbs.

Gen5

Here's a link to Sylvania Silverstar lighting on another site I'm a member of. http://www.turbodieselregister.com/f...d.php?t=140732

There's a address for returning Sylvania bulbs that burned out in less than a year!
