HELPP,what numbers to look for new hi-beam bulbs and lo-beam bulbs to buy
hi guys i have a real simple question.i was looking at the faq's and the other camry links, and i couldnt find what i needed.im wondering what numbers to look for to buy some white bulbs for my headlights, gen 3 camry.their are numbers 9006,9005.im wondering what numbers to look for,for each of them .i want to buy a set of white for my lo-beams and my hi-beams.please help me out, thanxxxxx
Lo-beams are 9006, Hi-beams are 9005. If you want more light output on your Lo-beams you can modify the 9005 bulbs (there's a how to on the Camry FAQ) to fit on your lo-beam socket.
Look up your year and light numbers. I personally suggest spending a few dollars more and going with the Sylvania Silverstars. Much improved light output i.e. visibility in all conditions. Jon.
silver stars ROCK!!! youll definately notice the diff. get em at advance for about $20-$30, depending on sale, i got mine for 20, well worth it. oh and i wouldnt recomend taking out any of the reflectors, they (i believe) push the light back toward the larger reflector, to make it spread evenly throughout your lense, if you take it out, i doubt youd be able to see quite as well.
(smarter people correct me if im wrong please)

Why does everyone say that the silverstars are so great. I had some and they didn't look white at all. Maybe my bulbs were retarded? I don't know. What I do know is they looked just like my old bulbs, which were 11 years old from the factory when we bought the car, except they were slightly brighter.
Yea......... Silverstars suck. They do put out a bit more light, but my experience is that they last less than a year. I used them in my truck and got 9 months out of one and 12 months out of the other, in very light use. Regular bulbs usually last 3 to 6 years!

i like the XD5 5800K ones. those were really nice. i had the 100w bulbs and no problems whatsoever although........that much wattage usage.......dang draining my battery.
