Muffler installation quote, good?

I went to two different shops today, one asked for 250 for a chrome magnaflow installed. The other guy said, magnaflows are not good for these cars, they wont add much sound, i got a v6 by the way, he said they are good for v8s. And he tried to sell me out one of those ricer looking round mufflers, for 160 installed. He said that muffler will give me a good sound, i was dubious. Axis i believe was the brand, anyways should i go with the magnaflow or what? And what is better looking a two tip one or single. Should i also get a resonator? i want some sound but i dont know what to get, what do you guys suggest?

250 is good deal if that come with magnaflow/dual tips plus custom piping mandrel bent 2.50" also.
definetly go with the resonator cause make it calm down the sound for just cruisin but roar when you gunned it.just my 2cent.

he wasnt lieing.

but hes definition of loud is way louder then most of us like.

the smaller the muffler (like a cannon) the louder it will be (remember stuf like the apexi N1 cannon is quite long making it big)

also the n/a spec magnaflows are made .... quite strange... the preforation doesnt last the entire lenght of the muffler (unlike the turbo magnaflows)

if you really want a suggestion, start from the front and work your way backwards. exhasut mods will make very very very minimal power gains on the v6. but you should see some improved throttle response (as long as you dont have toyotas fucked up fly by wire throttle)
