3rd Generation power steering hoses = replacement cost?

i think i've finally isolated the leak in my power steering system... it's begun losing a lot of fluid in the past week or so since it's gotten colder. the rack is leaking a small amount, but most of the fluid is coming from above the pump. so, i'm assuming it's the high or low pressure hose leaking, most likely the high press. what is a general range one could expect to pay for a shop to fix this, including parts? i'd love to do it myself, but don't have the facilities to unfortunately. any ballpark you guys could give would help, so i know if my wallet is being raped or not.

happy thanksgiving!

i think the oem h/p line is about $300. theyll probably charge 3+ hours to do it. they go bad all the time.

3rd Generation belts...

thanks for the help guys. i'll keep topping it off for sure until i can get it fixed, which will hopefully be in the next couple of weeks. my worry is not the fluid loss, my real worry is that it will ruin the belt on the pump from the drip down and cause real problems during the drive. am i being way too paranoid?

The stealerships want way too much for them. The best way, is to get the hoses or lines made at a hydraulic shop. The most I've paid is $25.

Karazy is correct. I had mine replaced with aircraft quality pressure tubing at a local hose shop that makes hoses for cars, tractors, aircraft etc. I paid $55.

A HP power steering line isnt $300. Maybe $50-$60. ANd it doesnt take but less then an hour to replace.
