Gen5 Plastic Bag stuch under the car and melted on the exhaust pipe

2005 Camry LE There is a melted plastic bag on the exhaust pipe it stinks wen i stop at a light or park wile it is warm how do i get it off

Get under the car and use a paint scrapper. Some plastic will disolve with gasoline. Oven cleaner some times works also.

Or you can just let it burn off - it can take up to a year though.

I used a disc grinder to get it off. Careful not to grind too much, the exhaust is galvanised steel or something and the coating may come off. Silly camry exhaust sticks out like a sore thumb.

Perfect time for an aftermarket exhaust system. Or, I agree with the oven cleaner/paint scraper idea. Never done it, but it sounds promising. Good luck.

I have a black plastic bag stuck on the pipe also, it's been smellin real bad for past few months. I got scared at first, smoke would be comin out when i stop, scared other drivers too.

i had the same problem a while back as well. It stank really bad when the car was parked after traveling around. After I drove and got back from school, I got under the car with a paint scraper and scraped it off since it was still hot and soft. There a bit of the plastic that is caked on the exhuast, but it was too difficult to get off. But it does not stink anymore.

yah they do i was stoped behind the same modle as me and i could see all the way to the haeder under thr car

man, that happened to me a few years ago in my jeep. you will have to wait until it just burns it self away... or lift up the car and clean/remove the melt...

I got some of it off a week ago wen i noticed it but it is all black and caked on so would what i have to do be get it nice and warm and jack it up and scrape it off???
