zup TNer's.. i'm going to tint my rear side window with 35%.. i want to do it now but i have some few questions.. film goes inside right so do i have to take the sticker off on the small window or i can live it like that?.. and also.. is it ok if i use hand soap or like shampoo instead of baby shampoo?.. i don't have baby shampoo so what do you guys recommend?.. any hint, tips, suggestions and answer will be appreciated.. thankz TN..

tints on the inside. I assume most stickers are on the inside to though

If you've never tinted any cars before, I highly recommend not trying it for the first time on your Gen 3. I've tinted a lot of cars, and the Gen 3 Camry was by far the hardest car to tint.

Also, you will def. need a heat gun to be able to tint it.

I haven't tinted any gen 4's, but they don't look that hard to tint.

I suggest, like the others, that you have it done proffesionally. Or, you can practice(for hours) and then take a whack at it.(not recommended)

the main rear side window doesn look that hard. the small triangle window looks like the hard part. I agree with other folks go pay someone 30$ to do it. They have the tools the set up and the experience already and you dont.

The rear side window is pretty hard becauswe of the way the window comes down. If you want it to look good and want the get a good cut done on it, it will take you quite a few attempts until you figure out how to cut it. After that, you still have to put the film on the inside, which is twice as hard, and you will need to use the heat gun.

i tinted my gen 3.5 and i did it the hard way but IMO the best way, i removed all the glass from the car and then cleaned it all and tinted it all the way under the plastic wiper lines so that it would never get caught and also used a heat gun to get it all nice, btw you can buy baby shampoo at walmart for like 98 cents man just buy that or get the tint on stuff that will cost you like $5 i just got the baby shampoo used what i needed and then i used the rest

Like someone else said above, pull the window out. I've never done window removal, so I couldn't tell you how, but with a little patience and a lot of spare tint you could probably have both rear sides done in a couple hours. Just take your time. However, the rear window would be a bitch, if you don't have it done already. I agree with what a couple other people have said... get it professionally done. You could probably even get your front windows done too. A lot of cars seem to have them. Not sure about the laws where you are though, so you'd have to check that out, and you probably can't get it done dark, but it'd be a cool thing to have. Or, go all out and just get smoked windows. You could probably find a set on Ebay.

Used to tint windows professionally.....practice makes perfect. Buy a roll for $15 and take a shot at it. I've gone through many rolls of tint before I learned how to do it right. But you'll never learn unless you try! If you feel overwhelmed take it to the tint shop and ask to see examples of their work <---that's important!

One thing, if you don't have access to a sealed garage with great lighting then don't even try it. If you do it outside you WILL get dirt between the glass and tint and it will look like crap when it dries.

A plus for paying to get it done is the professional grade tint is better than the ones in the auto parts stores. The tint is thicker since it has a protective coating on the inside that resists scratching. And it doesn't turn purple as fast. There is a reason you pay $100 + to get it done, it's the quality of the materials and work.

after tinting two other cars, i thought i would tackle my gen 3.5 last week. it was a crushing defeat. damn back window! even after slicing the tint into three strips and using a heat gun, i still couldnt keep air pockets from forming.

now i have to remove some of the glue residue that didnt come off when i peeled off the poor tint job the next day.

as a side note, camrycoupe95 - nice f-body. i have a garage queen myself - 1999 camaro ss!
