Climate control lights

Ok so i've searched... and i found some threads regarding people changing the lights on their dashboard. but i havent found any actual DIY tutorials as to how exactly do you get to the lights. Can anyone help me? and about changing the bulbs, would swapping them out to regular LEDS work? thanks!

Year, trim level? Those are kinda important.

I can tell you the following for a '92 Camry with XLE trim, V6, push button vent controls and the temp/fan dials.

The main black dash trim must be removed first. There are two screws above the speedo remove, then the assembly kinda pops out. The dials must be removed first, and there's a screw behind one of them that must be taken out (it holds the heater cable to the knob). There's a different set of climate controls in these cars w/o the dials too, and I'm not familiar with those. Once you get the black trim off, the climate control assembly comes out with 4 screws. Unplug the electrical connection and remove the unit. There are a few screws to take off, then you can remove the electrical board. If you know how to solder, you'll see you just have to heat up the solder on the old LED's and resolder in new ones. I have to fix a few of mine today. I've already replaced 4 of them, but I apparently missed another one. The LED's can be purchased from Radio Shack. I just buy the "assorted pack" of various sizes in red and green. Then I have LED's for other purposes. Just choose the LED that's the same size. I haven't tried the red LED's, but it may make a cool effect.
