Guess the sensor!!

Ok...I reckon i've got a bad sensor/controller somewhere, and I need opinions on which it could be.
Heres the symptoms.

RESET ECU
Start car(cold). Engine idle's at 1500-1600RPM for warmup. = Good.
Next day, engine cold. Start car, engine idles 1100-1000RPM for warmup = No good.
Every other day after that, still the same low idle at startup, until i reset ECU again.

After a reset, engine idle at cold start is normal for one start only. Thereafter, low again.

Also noticed sometimes, a low idle when warmed up. I like 700-750rpm, but it drops to 500-600 sometimes.

Ideas!??

TA!

No power loss. Except, the engine does have this annoying "pop" at idle. Which i posted about recently. But it sure doesn't feel like power loss...more just the low idle.

Dont remember if the 2vzfe has an "igniter" but it might be
worth checking. The pops that your getting at idle might indicate an
igniton malfunction of some kind. I haven`t studied the 2vzfe very
much, but i have an idea you might try. Your car is set to 14 degrees BTDC
right? you should check it again and at the same time rev the engine quickly
and see if the electronic spark advance is working correctly, it should never
dip below 14 degrees BTDC if it does then there may be something wrong with the
ignition.

Hm oky..so u rekn pop in another ignitior and see what she does? 2VZFE has an ignitor, and the coil is external to the distributor. Yeah i've set my BASE timing to 14-15 degrees or so. Ill check it out and see what it does. TA!
Any more ideas/explanations on the low idle problem?

i would say the o2 sensor

check your normal driving temp and see how that is that should help you see if it's the cts. maybe cleaning out your IAC valve and see if that helps.

Normal driving temps are perfect. It never goes over the middle, which is perfect.
A while back, i cleaned out my IAC...buut...i cleaned the bearings with thinners (doh!) and it eneded up seizing them (= kept stalling haha). I used WD40 to relubricate them..but perhaps that is what is causing it. Would that be effecting the cold start though??

WD40 dries up. Its not a good long term lubricant. check that.
