Gen5 Door Dent paint job

Hey, some one hit my passenger door and ran off. I got a dent the size of about 2 inches in diameter with deep scratches on it where the paint chipped off, I’m going to get it fixed but not sure if I should use the paint they got or order the Factory paint. I got a 2004 White Camry and I read that white is the hardest to match. How much do you guys think the job would cost and how much are factory paint? I’ll try to get some pics but not in the mood to snap some shots.

I have no idea about costs but the match shouldn't be too hard. The color formula will come out of the book. The body shop will order it from their supplier. The car is only two years old so it can't have oxidized that much. I did some work last year on my daughter's 2000 Mirage with paint from www.paintscratch.com. After five years the match was dead on. Just pick a shop with a good rep. It's cheaper in the long run to buy quality.
FWIW
YMMV

You could have a Pdr guy take the dent out and touch it up, then wet sand it and hand buff it. It would be very hard to see unless you were really close.

I paint cars all day long all year long and never have a problem, White can be a tough color but the Camry is pretty easy to match. They can paint it and stay above the moulding and below the glass, have them remove the mirror and belt moulding so that the sighns of a repaint are very low. Do not let them single stage it use basecoat clearcoat. The job will be less than $300. likely. hope this helps.

i agree, this is your best bet. they will separate a section, then sand it, repaint it and then put on the clearcoat. here in new york city they charge around $200.00 for the job at Maaco. will look brand new again.

Ouch, I'm gonna be Hurting, for a college student to take out 300 to fix a dent. BS stuff happens when i park in the city and return back with a unpleasent surprise on my car. i'd figured the job would cost around $150. i guess no more planning on getting rims and HID's for my car.

To Remove the moulding the mirror has to come off, also its a pain in the ass to get a slick clear flow under the mirror because of how the mirror sticks out it put the paint gun in a weird angle. It will look better if you have less obsticles in the way.
