I was driving today with my Camry this morning on slick/wet street and I turned into a winding road at 30mph then my left back tire blew and my entire car fishtailed to the left all the way until I was going backwards and hit a wood electric pole, a old ladies fence, mailbox, and trash can. (Keep in mind I slid into incoming traffic I was so lucky.) Police gave me a ticket for striking a fixed object. Can be dismissed he said because tire blew. Then to top it off while I was waiting for police the first 2 min a guy with a 2006 XLS series whatever cadilliac slid the same way I did and hit a pole and backed off. All the neihboorhood saw it because they where outside because of my wreck. People was looking for him and stuff. He got on down I can tell you that. Made me wonder wtf was in that street because I saw other people was sliding but didn't wreck.
Damage:
1. Messed up my axle and bent tire.
2. Hit my tire area between hood really hard.
3. Back trunk has small dent and various scratches from the backwards impact from hitting fence.
Insurance may say its a total and I have no way to school and my 2 jobs. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!
ahhh man. that sounds bad! are you alright physically? shoot engine wasn't harmed was it?
glad you're still alive though! it's that camry curse =X the guy in the caddy got away? what the heck..

First off no bodily harm which is always most important.
2ndly if your car is deemed totalled and you have no way of getting around, you can attempt to bum rides off friends and family, or public transportation. You are able to explain what happend to your bosses as well. If you have good insurance they might give you a loaner, or just go rent a car...although that just costs a lot of money.
Anyways i wish you the best of luck and im sorry to hear all this happend to you.
It has to be some damage under hood because side frame connecting to hood got hit really hard. Engine should be fine. Car was still running when I wrecked just fine.
yea the most important thing is your health and you can always bum rides off of friends and family.... good luck w/ everything and glad to hear you are OK

Yeah, I felt horrible the first little bit. Then I read the other thread. Dude... it's karma. I'm glad that you're not hurt (maybe), and it sucks that your ride's dead, but it's karma man. Just be happy that your ride sacrificed itself for you. You could've run into the back of a pickup and impaled yourself on a two-by-four. Next time get a Honda.
a good mechanic is like a good bj giver- you always go the person that gave the service to you, and if they are not available - you just sit at home and fiddle with the problem yourself until a substandard result is met

Ditto.
