4th Generation DIY: Ongoing Project, LEDs Gauge SUPERFLUX LEDs **56K WARNING**

Want Brighter GAUGE Light?? Look No further

WHAT YOU NEED:

- 5x SUPERFLUX LEDs
- 5x Resistors (470ohm)
- Wires (1-2m long)
- PC Board
- Solder
- Wire Cutter
- Electrical Tape

Hi all,

just finished all the wiring for my LEDs Gauge (White Superflux).

My first intention was to put LEDs all around the Gauge, Replacing the STOCK 194 Bulbs. But I found out that it will takes quite a long time to do that, Also i need about 20+ Superflux LEDs. (This is just for a Trial. I only putting 5 WHITE SUPERFLUX LEDs. If it turns out really good, ill put more SUPERFLUX LEDs).

anyway enough talking and ill show ya some pics.... (sorry for the crappy Quality photos)

My problem at the moment is, After i painted the needles RED, they're not that bright. hopefully this will solve the problem . I will be editing this Thread once I get more photos.

(Old Pic, Needles not that bright )

(Sorry for the Crappy quality, The colour is Pure White, Not blue)

POSTPONE TILL NEXT YEAR

I will be placing them inside the Gauge tomorrow

NOTE OF THANK YOU: Just wanna say thank you to JETSPEEDCAMRYfor helping me with all the wiring set up!

Ohhh Maaan,

i was just about to make my purchase of Luxeon Star SuperFlux LEds too and write a DIY with pICS. You beat me to it. Well, I'm currently working on my guage using 10 mm LEDS in Super White. I'll post pics when i'm done too.

Excellent Job leasaunce. Using Super Flux LEds are better than reg. 5mm leds. The Luxeon Stars produce the equivalent light output of at least 20 5mm LEDS. But then again they're more expensive.

BTW, what color temperature are your White LEDS. I'm loooking for White with the Purple Hue to it. My 10mm White LEDs are 9000K color temp.

be careful when using electrical tape. Use heatshrink instead. Electrical tape may loosen in the extreme temperatures your car undergoes. Probably won't be a problem, but something to think about. Can't wait to see u finshed product.

ok guys.

you probably not going to be impress with this, BUT i blew up 4 SUPERLUX LEDs when i connected the wires to the car, and only 1 turn on.

i am going to order some more from ebay, and it will take probably another week or so to arrive.

i gotta ask JETSPEEDCAMRY again, i think i use the wrong RESISTORS.

If you want the easy way you can connect the wires between the bulb holder, Positive side on one side N ground wire to the other side (as shown in the pic)

LEDs are polarity sensitive. Theres a anode (+) and cathode (-).

Do you have a spec sheet on the LEDs?

also it looks like u wired them in parallel, u should definitly wire them in series. depending on the forward voltage u should be able to wire all 5 in series, or maybe 4 and 1.
