4th gen Camry 4cyl wat performance things to do??? help....
Dont know much about 4cyl camry's want to give it some bang for its buck its automatic and 4cyl want to get it up a little without an exhaust for now trying to keep it low on the noise and high on the sound system and the flashy shit but dont know wat do im thinking to just slap on a new seat of headers, short ram intake, new intake manifold and a some tein coilovers anybody got any good prices or ideas to get a little bit more zoom zoom out of this let me know without a motor swap tired of doing swaps
not really worth doing a motor swap. IMO
intake, manifold, etc should give you 3-5 hp each.
I know the mustang on a TV DIY show got like 7hp gain from the air intake.
I just went with TEIN springs and the car has been dropped and it has a nice stance. The car is not too low and it it still rides very nicely. Handling has improved from less bodyroll.

Yes there is not much u can do with the 4cyl camry's out there unless u have the mula to do so. But anyway, ground wire kit, maybe 1-5hp, spark plugs, wires, full catback exhaust from header down, u can get the header from rippmods, and buy the greddy evo exhaust for the solara/camry v6 models it will fit the 4cyl, which actually sounds betteron the 4cyl than 6cyl. As for suspension, go for the matrix springs which run about a $159.00. For the intake, i would go cold air instead of short ram. Short rams are loud and can and will overheat. But if you want to go short ram, there are alot of ones to choose from, like i weapon r, injen, tocan, etc.
wat are rippmods? and i havent found a cold air intake yet by any of those companies so far i mean i know how to build one i've built plenty of them but this is a car not no pocket rocket im trying to give it a little edge not alot and matrix coilovers sound nice but how do they ride cuz u need some good shocks and shit when u do things like that cuz i was a dumass who drop my civic to the floor wit some b.s coilovers and felt every dam bump in the street cuz i had stock shocks and i kno u aint suppose to drop a car to the ground like that but im looking for a nice 2.5 inch drop in the front and a 2.0 in the back with a smooth or descent ride
There are pros and cons using CAI. You may get higher top end but your low end torque may suffer. The stock intake plastic hoses are tuned pretty well for low-end torque. If you have relatively clean air where you drive, I would recommend a simple K&N drop-in filter and preserve your stock intake. I've had good success using simple 'bolt-on' device from powerchipgroup.com on my '00 camry 2.2L. I purchased the powerchip gold 98ron for maximum power for A$890 and have no regrets. To get even more power I have boosted my 98ron fuel with 20% toluene (~102ron) and the results are fabulous. There's about 15 more horses at ~2300rpm and about 45Nm more torque at the same rpm. Front end power is simple awesome.
Red Line (Stock with 98ron fuel)
Purple Line (Powerchip with 98ron fuel)
Blue Line (Powerchip with 98ron fuel + 20% toluene)
I also recommend Denso IK20s, I havent done a dyno on it yet but my 0~100kph timing has improved 0.1~0.2 secs over the stock twin ground platinums PK20TR11. Not a whole lot but maybe 4~5hp on the top end as this dyno chart from Denso website shows on a stock '99 civic.

why matrix springs?
go with tein or eibach
tein is $139 off ebay
179 for eibach
but there just the springs i want the whole thing i want the ss tein damper kit aka the full coilover suspension with 12 way adjustable shocks that i could add a computer that will make them stiffer or loose when i drive cuz i have some plans i just came up wit thats gonna take some time but ima do it eventually hopefully the car mechanically, audio, and some exterior accesorries will be done by spring 07 and i'll make way for a body kit and some forged rims but ima look for some donuts to put on and paint them gloss black and leave them for a while until i get the 2gs for the forged rims wit tires thanks guys u were a big help but keep posting cuz today in the couple of hours i spent lookin around the forum i learned about 20 new things that i can do wit a gen 4 camry that i had no clue that was true or possible to do like the ripp stage 1 supercharge at 9psi can kick out about 237hp to the flywheel on stock internals which is sik on an automatice now imagine if u do the internals somehow and crank up the boost to about 15psi hmmmm.... i'll let u kno how it goes when i do it i got a shop who has done all of my stroker kits for my cars or most of them at least or the parts i cant find they make it costs a bundle but its worth it and wen i call them i think ima have to drive to where there at to pick it up to see there faces when i tell them what kind of car it was for sometimes the'll bitch but theres places who make them because they respect a dedicated racer they'll be confused on why on an automatice 4cyl but they'll be like hey we've seen 1000hp automatic supras wit 52psi and some shit done to the motor......
