Hubcentricity

How important is hubcentricity. I was at first disturbed that the hub bore size of my new rims was larger than the hub that is on the car. So i began frantically searching for hubcentric rings to fill the 3-4mm gap. Now when i actually saw these rings i couldnt believe it. THEY ARE PLASTIC!!!!!!!!!! WTF how can this plastic ring transfer the weight of the vehicle from the lug nuts to the hubs? Doesnt make sense to me. How important are these rings anyway?

Very important. Weight isn't really on the rings themselves if your lugs are torqued to spec.

Mine are plastic and have 60k miles on them. They are fine.

It's been discussed many times. Search hubcentric in Camry and Hardcore tech and it'll kick up some dust.

That's why they are ignoring you.

I have plastic hub rings, with about 40k on them. There perfect.

it's really just so you center your rim properly when you mount your wheels
