2nd Generation need a new catalytic converter

Apparently I didn't pass smog due to bad emmissions. The guy overlooked my aftermarket header, but stated that my cat was too weak to pass....Anyone have any suggestions on a cat that would help me out in my situation. I need a quality one that will last and not burn out in 2 years.

Thanks

Matt

Could be your cam is consuming oil and some additives in oil (phosphorous in zddp) are harmful to cats. Just buy a cheapest high flow cat you can find, since its not going to last anyway. Also use the newer SM rated oils which are lower in zddp content. You might want to use something thicker too like 10w40 or 15w50 to help stop oil getting past the rings or valve stems.
