Yeah, it would have been a real simple job, except for that....
Pulled the tensioner pulley off and was about to bring the belt over one notch and I heard that sound (zzzzzzzzzzik!), and I knew what happened... Valve spring tension had spun my exh cam over. So instead of just shifting it over one notch and calling it good, I had to start from scratch timing the thing..
So I redo the whole thing, and jumped in the car to start it up, and it turned over twice and sounded real funny... I was like, what now!! So I inspect it closer, and the stupid exhaust cam is off 90DEG. It must have sprung again when I had gone for a tool run!
So I did it again again, and paid a little closer attention, and got er done right.
Could have been so simple!
