Angry drive axle is busted?

just got my brakes fixed and all that on my '95 camry for like 300+ bucks!

but yeah, they told me that my axle is busted and leaking oil, apparently that could lead to many other bad things...

anyone know anything about this? any advice would be appreciated greatly...

welcome to the board! im quite the veteran myself.
its sounds like one of the cv (constant velocity) boots on the axle is broken. it the axle itself was broken, you would notice. a broken cv boot will cause the joint to wear quicker, eventually make some clicking noise especially around corners, and eventually fail. i would suggest fixing this sooner rather than later, but ive driven a car with a broken boot for about 6 months until i got around to fixing it with no adverse effects.

replace the boot and pack with new grease or you can replace the entire axle assembly. If you can do it yourself you can probably do the boot for 30 bucks or less and the axle for about 120 or less. If not then it is probably going to be more like 120 for the boot and closer to 200 for the axle.
