3rd Generation Diagnose this noise i'm hearing

About 2 weeks ago I started to hear it (might of been longer but I always have my music loud.) I only hear it when I accelerate from a dead stop, like at a stop light/sign or if i'm riding around a parking lot. I don't know if I would describe it as a clunk or what but it definitly comes from the front of the car. I don't think it's my cv boot/joints cause it happens when i'm going straight too. Motor mounts maybe? I know this isn't giving you guys much to work with but I don't have a driveway or a jack to look underneath to see if any things leaking or torn. This sound familiar to anyone. Thanks in advance for any help.

Motor mounts sounds like a good palce to start. If it is only on acceleration taht is . You can pop the hood and get in the car and brake torque it while in gear. If it seems as if it is moving back and forth or even up and down more than you think it should that would be a good place to start. This is not the absolute best way to check for bad motor mounts but since you dont ahve a jack and driveway it is a start.

Well about 6 months ago I replaced my tourqe mount (dogbone mount) and it's already starting to crack again. Isn't that a sign of other worn mounts? If i'm not mistaken I think a mechanic where I used to work told me my front mount was shot. Not sure about the rear engine mount or the tranny mount.

thanks for the quick reply.

Don't want to be snippy but if you don't have a jack to check it out do you have the tools and knowhow to fix it? Maybe better/easier to take it in someplace. Motor mounts would be the first pace to check.

Sounds like the tranny mount to me. Then again i wouldn't take my own advice in this situation.
