2nd Generation Where is the plug to fill transmission fluid.

I have a 1989 toyota camry 4 cyl 5 spd. I don't know where the whole is to put the transmission fluid. I only know where the drain plug is. Need to know asap.

to fill the trans up with fluid you take the dipstick out, put a funnel in place of the dipstick and pour away....

Does the 5sp even have a dip stick tube? My Celica does not and you fill it by pouring oil in a hose piped into the hole on the side. Eiterh that or use a pump.

But I believe that a manual transmission uses gear oil not transmission fluid.

since its the manual there is a fill bolt on the side of the trans.(like touringcamry said u need a hose or tube to fill the manual). also, may i suggest u go with redline mt-90. it buttah smooth. kinda pricey though.

The fill plug is 17mm bolt IIRC. 3/8" ID hose is perfect fit into that hole. Get about 5 ft clear vinyl or PVC hose from the hardware store. Most hardware stores sell it by the foot.
