Unhappy My interrior is trashed

So my interrior has been through many changes that im not proud of and i dont really like to share with the TN community....so here i go:

When i first got my car I was like most teens who didnt know. I knew only as much about aftermarket as Fast and the furious...so i made some mistakes along the way to discovering real taste.

I ended up trying different color schemes on the trim panels of my interrior....Radio Trim, Vents, Handles, Door handles, etc...... and now have ended up with gouged up, scratched, blotchy looking plastic peices.

I want to rectify my situation and bring this practically new camry back to its origional stock looks. (or something close). I have a few ideas and need some input on making a desicion.

I was thinking of getting one of these:

Those kits are cheap and easy to install......

Another route i think i can take is buying the individual peices from the dealer ....i got a quote once and it was like $600+

anyone got suggestions?

you can get them from eBay for around $50-$99usd. some of them are good and some are just plain cheap.

i'll definately get them if they make one for a RHD camry.

the main downside to those 3Mtape on type kits is over time they will fade and turn some really wierd shades of green and purple. At least they used to on the dealer installed ones we did. And those were good quality Toyota badged ones. Also once you put them on they are not easy to take off normally. SO make sure you really want it. It is possible to get them off but can be time consuming. At leat the factory ones I used to install were that way. Other ideas are salvage yeard and try to find an XLE with wood trim that has been wrecked and you can get all the pieces for a lot less that 600. Or maybe even a SE with the metal trim on the iside.

yea Gen5 wreaked camry's are very rare at my local junkyards. Id love to just get all stock trim again.

If the aftermarket Trim kit wouldn't come off i wouldnt care because my trim has holes in it and is bumpy and crap already.....would brushed aluminum turn green/purple like you said?

dont know aout the aluminum chngin colors. I think it was jsut the dyes that were used in the wood kits that casued that.

There are some of the 3m tape ones on ebay that say they will not fade or anything. Then again you just never know. I would check junkyards for xle trim pieces or se if you want, but like you said it could be pretty hard to find.

Brian, I have an o/t question for you. Did you design your sig on gt4? Looks awesome by the way.

i like the aluminum color ones on my black dash. it looks clean. make sure you clean really well because some parts might stick and others won't......it'll look weird.

the ebay ones (which are cheap) are add on's to you existing pieces - they go over you existing trim with double sided tape. IMO, just go to a junk yard and pull out all their pieces and swap with yours.

like i said earlier in this thread......Its close to impossible to find a gen5 camry in any local junkyards.. Ive seen one, and it was burned out. Most shops and dealers get their hands on them for spare parts
