Automatic driver seat

has anyone tried to modify the power seat so that it only works when you turn on the ignition and how difficult is it to do it.

not difficult at all, just run the main power wire from the seat through a relay, have the relay hook to the Ignition ON wires in the Steering Coloum. When u turn the key it will trip the relay and allow use of the seat.


but why would you want to anyway?

see i have a brake lock(antitheft device) in my car so everytime i park at ghetto places i lock the brake. however, to be more secure i want to leave limitted space or no space at all for theive to cut the brake lock when i move the seat forward b/4 i exit the vehicle. just wanted the theive work harder to steal my car.
