Toyota Windom in New Zealand

I have a 1991 Toyota Windom 3.0G on which the boot release / fuel filler release button assembly collapsed today and fell into the door "void".

Can anybody please advise how to take off the door panel / trim to enable me to retrieve the said button assembly? It doesn't say anything about it in the English translation of the Japanese manual over here in New Zealand.

Any help would be really appreciated

Rgds

Since im not familiar with your car...you CAN try unscrew the screws that is holding your panel in place...depending if there is a screw on your door handle...take that one off and use a flathead or pry tool and pop it out then unlatch the door handle mechanism. Then use a pryer and start loosening the edges and your panel should come right off. And unplug any elecitcal plugs like power lock and power window. This is what I do for my car but you can try it on your car at your own risk. Good Luck.
