blew two holes in transmission.

well, i just recently blew two holes in the transmission housing on my auto 98 v6 camry le and im looking for a replacement. so far from my researching, it looks like any v6 4th gen tranny will fit. im not very fimiliar with auto tranny replacements and wanted to know if there is anything else i need change out or be concerned about besides just the tranny itself.

TIA.

Always look for one in a junkyard... be warned that finding a v6 tranny might be tough, and when/if you find one, make sure the car is totalled, that way you know how it got in there =P

btw: HOW did you end up blowing a hole in your tranny??

its my moms car. she says tranny gasket was leaking. i assume she ran out of ATF and the diff blew apart and blew the holes in the tranny. she also says it caught on fire. from her account and looking at the tranny, it looks like its just the tranny thats the problem.
