3rd Generation RADIO backlight replacement??

Ditto my title / subject - anybody here know how to replace the backlight in my radio (Stock radio ) - is it a fuse problem by chance?

- Please, dont diss my stock radio!

Most backlights in radios (at least all modern cars) have L.E.D's and or they are LCD backlit with L.E.D's and they only last about 150,000 hours. So if they die out you can replace them but you need to be handy with a soldering iron and need to find them.

I think its RedPheonix or someone on here who did a DIY on radio LED's you should look it up.

But yea it can be replaced you just gotta get new LED's

brian is correct. however, it requires a lot of extensive soldering and work so you just have to decide if its worth doing or not.

on a side note, i'm selling my stock stereo (cassette deck) and i'm in LA. if the backlight is such a nuisance maybe its owrth just replacing the stereo. PM me if you're interested.

If all the lights on the radio are out, then it might not be the LEDs that died. It's likely another component in that circuit has died.

not always.... Sometimes LED's are hooked up in sieries so if one goes then they all go.
