Gearbox Prob?

I have just had the motor (3vz-fe) rebuilt on my 95 Scepter (camry).

When I picked the car up from the shop the gear change was a bit rough.
The mechanic suggested that as they had the auto out to do the engine it would be a kick down adjustment. However I drove it home (600 miles) and its not good. I also get the occasional warning light on the dash (both the enine outline thingy and traction control off)

I don't kniow if they are related or not some of your wisdom would be welcome before I start slagging off at the shop that did it (a little difficult with them being sofar away)

Thanks Maurice

I thought I may have had some responce to my post but oh well.
Further to my original post I have had my car to the local toyota dealer and it showed a 5-5 code indicating that there was a prob with the knock sensor. The think that the wire to the sensor has been broken while the motor was out. It is only a $dollar part but they have to remove all the inlet manifold in order to fix it.

Would this fault have any bearing on the gearbox ie due to retarded timing etc?

Thanks for aboundant replies
Maurice
