I recently purchased a GEN 3.5 FOUR CYLINDER. It does not say LE or anything on it. Just "Toyota" and "Camry" and "toyota symbol" emblems in the back.
My guess is that it is a DX, although the registration paperwork says LE on it.
Why I think so.....
1) It is a stickshift.I don' think they put a manual trans in a GEN 3.5 LE.
2) The driver and passenger seats have "Vinyl???" in the back. It is not all cloth.
HOWEVER, I do have power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, remote entry and a factory cassette player.
3.5 4cyl? for 4cyl its 2.4 and the biggest engine in the camry is the SE 3.3 V6...and the trim you have is the camry standard..guess you can call it DX

Oh by 3.5 I meant Generation 3.5. I should be writing that.
It has a 2.2 litre engine. Yea I think it is a DX. Thanks.

It's DX. The vinyl seats give it away immediately. Also, the manual 5-speed only came with the DX model. Some people have installed all the LE options into a DX just because they wanted the stick shift.
another way to tell is by the power antenna mast. If it has power it is LE if it is manual on the drivers side a-pillar it is DX. DIdnt the DX also have the blacked out center trunk panel like the SE did.
Everything you ahve described though points to DX with power package.

hmm...nice....comforts of an LE...manual of a DX...like RedPhoenix said..enjoy the manual.
other signs:
blacked out or non color coordinated rear camry deck...(where it says camry)
antenna in the A- pillar instead of the rear deck (maybe not in your case...maybe it came with the power upgrade)
Different wheel cover than the LE ...DX has almost all whole...unlike the LE
Rear view mirror and door handles not the same color as the body.
i know know what else

yeah, by those specs. that you just pointed out, then i defiantly had the DX, mirrors weren't painted, i had the antenna on the roof on the A-pillar...but i had a full-size spare tire, with everything electric, includeing factory toyota alarm.

^^ lol, i think you meant LX.... but anyways, it sounds like a DX. in the latest 3.5 models the DX were almost equal in equipment to the LE, except for the nice seat fabric and the such...

Yea like someone already said, the 4banger is 2.2L and the biggest V6 in that GENERATION is a 3.0L. Same engine u can find in your 90-98 Lexus ES300
