Who cares if their legal or not. People put hghbeams in their lowbeams all the time, plus hids look the same as any other aftermarkey lights, the cops wont notice or saying anything unless your being rediculously stupid. They are just as lazy as the rest of us, if not more.
Unless you live in California or another state and have inspections, I don't see anything to worry about. We don't even have emmissions inspections. =P
The headlamps should be ok since the non reflective part is the part that is black.
However, the corners are not legal. In almost all juristictions you are supposed to have an amber/orange or white reflector on the front corner facing the side of teh vehicle. Some states say amber only so cars come with amber usually even where white is permitted because of lowered manufacturing costs.
those lights on eBay are basicaly the same thing as our stock headlights, but they are painted black (inside). just like what "WHITECHOCOLATE" did couple of days ago with a GEN 5's Headlight.
If you believe the lights from China are DOT/SAE than I have a nice bridge to sell you as well. With my Euro taillights on my 99 Camry I had to do so much modification to the plastic so the lights would fit inside, these places stamp DOT/SAE just incase someone is questioned about it but if you were to look it up properly you would see they're not. DOT/SAE certification takes a lot, you figure if it really was they would make a higher quality product as well. Jon. p.s. does anyone have any pics of their car or other Camry/Solara where the inside of the headlights are the same color as the rest of the car??
