2nd Generation sprung

Ok guys, i got a wild hair idea at work today, what if i was to cut 1 turn off of each coil on my 88, I know it will stiffen to a point and drop the car to a point, but has anybody tried this?

it won't stiffen, it will lower, if you go over bumps, you might hit ur fender or u might ruin the shocks by hitting it (hitting it.. like.. when it compresses all the way and the bottom hits the top...

geeze fred, talk about a newb question. This aint 1972 where you can just chop the springs, this is a modern (semi) car with progressive rate springs. the coils have different indivdiual compression values.

hehe well ive done this, and its not a good idea, your gonna want lowering springs instead of cutting. and cutting only one doesnt really do anyting XD i had to cut to, and the ride is really soft :P

yea dude, like tommy said its a progressive rate spring. These things have been designed and built SPECIFILY to handle weight/height/compression into a formula to make it work right. Taking a notch off the top of your coil is like going into a building and HOPING that the support beam u want to take out to install that in wall TV wont make the wall itself fall down.
