Engine removal

I need to pick up a project car for an engine class I am taking next semester. I went to the junkyard and found a really nice lookin mid-nineties camry, looks pretty much fully loaded and has a v6 engine. The body is nice, but I was told the engine needs a rebuild. How hard is it to get that puppy out of the engine bay? It looked like it could be decently tough.

welcome to TN, decently tough is right, provided you have the equipment you need it should be a 1-2 day job...what year camry is it 92-93 or 94- and up......? Toyota used several engines over that time span

Its a 94-up, just did a little google image search. The engine is a v6, and if it were a 4 cyl I would have bought the dang thing today. The v6 just kind of intimidates me a bit knowing that I have twice the amount of things to rebuild in one semester.

The engine comes out through the top, right? Can the transmission come out with it?
