Announcing 3vz-fe Cams

WeasyS2S (http://www.sea2skytuning.com/) is a very active member in the Toyota truck & MR2 forums, and has been involved with tuning 5vz-fe's, and truck / SUV's, and MR2's for years. Now he has progressed into deals to having 5vz-fe camshafts made at good pricing. Along with 3vz-e camshafts. (See threads on truck/mr2 forums) Because most mechanical work & R&D applies to both 3vz & 5vz engines, he has been gracious enough to start supplying 3vz-fe cams alongside his 5vz-fe cams.

Toysrme himself will be dyno testing, and endorsing various camshafts to find the most fitting profiles to different applications. Cams will range between mild street cams that will gain both power, and economy without sacrificing against the stock cams, to somewhat wild camshafts requiring modifications to take advantage of them.

The first sets should become available in early '06 (February/March). Pricing and finer details will be coming out closer to launch.

Noone has compared them yet in person, but there exists the possibility that 2vz-fe cams also use the same dimensions. Anyone that would supply, or could measure a pair of camshafts (with pictures, or drawing a diagram) would be a big help.

Merry Christmas.

And for the record, this is not like past large Camry projects that may, or may not ever pan out. The work is, and has been going on.

I would DEFINETLY be interested in 2VZ-FE cams...i cannot ship any to you for measuring or anything because im in AUS and theres hardly any 2vz's sitting around. Please PM "lexusmech", me and him have been talking for a few months now regarding 3vz-2vz cam differences, and trying to fit 3vz cams into our 2vz heads. We found them to be very similar, requiring millimeter machining to certain parts. Very excited about this.

A merry xmas to u also.

Yes these will be performance cams and there is not any dynos yet as they are still in the deisng stage. I brought onboard toysrme (didnt take any arm twsting for that to happen ) to test the 3vz-fe cams and dyno his car to show the results.

I am already in the works of getting ahold of the 2vz cams/head to be shipped here which i should see in the new year.

Thanks ArmyofOne for posting this information, i have been so tied up in emails

Bump for something that actually should increase hp on the v6's that is not a fan to stick inside the intake.

Interesting. I'm curious to see what kind of compromises with overlap/lift you'll be making to maintain idle quality on street cams.
