My LED Backup Lights Retrofitted (56 may take a while)
I recently purchased a few io moons to do backup lights. These are 1 Watt Leds. They are just as bright as the Luxeons at about half the price. I got the warm ones and in hindsight i probably should have gotten the cool ones, but i was afraid it would be too blue for inspection. here are step by step pictures of the whole retrofit. They light up exactly like a standard colored bulb, so for people looking for an OEM color, this is perfect.
Please post all comments and questions. Once it stops raining, i'll try and get some output pictures.

for xmas my dad got me this lamp u wear on ur head (sounds corny i know) but it has a SINGLE 1 watt luxeon LED and it is, pardon my french, bright as FUCK!!!!! the LED is smaller than a christmas light string bulb and is so incredible. it looks blue but it is true white and i'm pretty sure that u'd only need 1 in each side esp. if u used like the reflector bowl that came in my light.

When in doubt, use the search function (link)...no one is spoon fed...
I allready did my break and turn signal lights in LED (look for my old post on it or check my cardomain site) These are just as bight as the 1 watt luxeon stars that you find, just a different company. Some people say this company is actualy better. Once it stop raining, i'll post some output shots to show people just how bright these are.

heh I just read your post on hidplanet... I've been looking into doing something for my tails as well, probably with the superflux LEDs that are so popular with guys like dmiller. Just a question, did you take some touch up paint to cover your rear panel? At least from the close up that you had, it doesn't look like it was sprayed on. Good job on the other parts, although that rear reflector gets in the way, eh?

Yeah i painted that like 4 years ago with a bottle of touch up paint. over time it's smothed over but i might sand it and spray paint em. You don't really need that red reflector there at all anyways.
