freakin' day-time running lights!

does anybody have a toyota with day-time running lights? well i have a 2001 camry and its equipped with them. the annoying thing is that the sensor is so freakin' sensitive. if my headlight switch is in the off position and i drive through a patch of shade for about 5-6 seconds my headlights automatically switch on. and when they're on i can't manually switch them off w/o turning off my car. sometimes i just want to wait somewhere idling without being noticable. can i snip a wire to the sensor or something? thanks for any advice

well .. uh .. those arent your DRLs .. DRLs stay on during the day no matter what .. the thing of which you speak about is actually your twilight sensor and yes there's a way to disable it. notice the black knobish thingy on your passenger side up near the windshield .. pop it up and disconnect it and do whatever you want with the plug but for me .. i saved the sensor and the plug is kinda concealed.

Hey guys, if you don't want the DRL on when you park, turn off the car and put the parking brake on then start the car again, this will disable the DRL as well the auto headlight. When the headlight turned on automatically in the tunnel, it will turn itself off when you're out. The auto headlight won't turn on for like 30sec if you don't turn the light on yourselve. What up with DRL issue anyway, I think they fine beside it's the law that new cars have them on here in Canada.

yes but im in california so i dont know if its a law or not but anyways DRLs look ugly since i have white headlights and bluish signals so it only adds to the ugliness .. lol .. anyways that's my 2 cents
