Two Questions

on a manual transmission.....

1) How do you know the clutch is slipping or needs replacing?

2) How do you know the transmission is going bad or needs replacing?

1) You wont feel any power when you step on the gas, tach will zing every once in a while when you step on it.

you know it is slipping becuase it slips. If you shift and the rpm drops for several thousand rpm before you start moving forward again i would get it replaced.

The transmission is a little easier, if you have to force it into gear or it keeps popping out of gear by itself then you probably have problems.
