Bosch spark plugs?

Thought I heard/read somewhere that Bosch plugs don't run well in Toyotas. Got a set for cheap that I'am planning on putting in a 96, 4-cylinder.

Anyone know of any problems with them?

Lots of threads on here about people not likeing them. A quick search will probably bring up something.

There is a lot of theories about whats the best spark plug design,
how many ground electrodes ect ect, many ground electrodes sounds
nice but they allso act as cooling rods, they steal the energy from the
combustion and that is something we dont want, thats why i only use
Denso, NGK or Champion , they need less voltage to make a spark
compared to german plugs and allso makes a stronger spark since the
voltage loss is less than the greman ones.

Use the recommend plugs in the owner's manual. For my 92 it is either NGK or Denso. I use Denso personally, but make sure to get platinum at least. Regular plugs just stink!

Also, if my 92 requires platinums I am sure your 96 will need platinums. I know Bosch works well for German cars.

I know the platinums are required for the V6's. I use the Bosch platinums for my '94 and they've held up just fine. Spark plugs are cheap, you only need 4 of them so don't go with something because you got a good deal on them. What do you save, maybe $20 from a great deal from buying a new set of high quality ones?

Exactly, buy good plugs. A lot of people commonly say that plugs are cheap, but those are the regular cheap plugs. Yeah, I think OEM stuff is the best.

Plugs are cheap. You get some of the higher end ones that will hit you for about $6 a piece. 4 plugs at $6 each is only $24. Your car will definitely appreciate it.

if the car calls for laser platinums, use laser platinums, if it calls for coppers use coppers.
I have seen a case where regular plugs were used in a camry and the car ran rough, we swapped in the correct laser plats and she ran beautiful again.
The OE won't spend any extra money on plugs unless they have some benefit to the OE.

BTW stick to Denso or NGK plugs, that's what I sell because they work best on Japanese cars and are usually OE anyhow

^ My uncle got a tune up done at a shop and they put regular (copper?) plugs in the car and it ran liek crap. Rough idle and the fuel consumption went way up. Took to a dealer and they replaced the plugs with Platinums and the car ran great.

Get Denso double platinums and skip the iridiums.
