HELP!!!: My intake is crying!

Well, it seems that sometimes (not all the time) my intake makes this whining sound. I have an open filter (like an rice burner shud ) and it almost sounds like a horn. Does anyone know what cud be causing this and/or ho i can fix it? and BTW it made this sound b4 i put on the fliter, its just a little louder now that there is nothing to muffle it.

you have a cold air intake or a short one...??
if you have one of those with a k&n type filter there is usually...a hole at the end of the fitler....you'll get a whistling effect....kinda simular to what the sound is like when you blow air over a glass bottle......i bet you more then likely that what it is.

Maybe you got something inside the intake or intake manifold. One time one of my friends got a piece of electrical tape inside here manifold :roll: (don't ask me how) but it was loud as hell. Kinda scary.
