2nd Gen Tire wheel combos?

What size tires and wheels are you guys running on your cars? Does anyone know maximum width and/or overall diameter that will fit? Standard offset of stock wheel? Pics would be appreciated. Thanks.

225/35/18....someone once told me that 225's would never fit a gen 2 Camry. Some people still doubt me. Maximum width you can go at stock offset (+38) is 225/35/18. Anything else would rub the strut or fender well. As for as wheel size goes, you're looking at maybe running a 18x7.5 at the most cuz then you run into issues of rubbing and what not.

Wow, those are big! More power to ya! By the way, what kind of suspension do you have (i.e.- The struts might hinder a larger diameter tire.)?

I just have 15x6.5 Konig Caffeine wheels ( http://www.autotire.com/images/caffeine.gif ) with 205/50/15 tires. The car might look a little nicer with those Intrax 1.5in. drop springs, but I don't have the money (or that much of a desire).

I'm running Intrax springs with KYB GR-2 Struts. For a V6, I think it's a pretty sh*tty set-up cuz the ride is awful (35 series tires don't help much either). Gonna go with Tokico's next. The drop looks alot lower cuz the V6 is heavier. But for 4 cylinder guys, clearance shouldn't even be an issue since it sits considerably higher.

Well, I'll let you use my 16" rims and 50 series tires when your not at shows, how about that? (well, if we trade, that is  ha). I'm running 205/50/16 with 7" wide rims and 38mm offset. The only time I had rubbing was when my whiteline front bar wasn't correctly adjusted. The caster was so far off that I was scraping the FRONT of the wheel well... ouch. But its all fixed now.

Joey, can you turn fully lock to lock without rubbing? What about low speed really tight corners? Have you rubbed yet? If you haven't, that's awesome!

btw, did you ever sell your old 17s?

Strangely enough, I have never rubbed the fender at all at high speeds. If you saw the car in person, it would look like I would rub cuz the drop is so low in the front. The only time I rub is when I do u-turns and it rubs the inside plastic piece. But I had the problem when I was running 215/40/17. So it's not really and issue with the tires.

I still have the 17's. You can have them for $750 with Falken tires if you want them... :P

Damn... I wish I wasn't saving up for the down payment on a WRX... I'd take 'em right now. 8) Then again, selling my wheels and tires I could make a little money back... oh... jeeze. So tempting. I wish I could do it.
