You'll need to do rewiring also to supply the neccessary power to the mirror. If you don't have power mirrors already, there's no power wires for the mirror in your car.

I have power mirrors already just not heated.
I don't mind running another couple of wires as I'd just source everything out used.
so DO the es300 ones just bolt straight on?

The ES300 has frameless windows on the doors. Even if the bolt patterns for the mirrors work, the mouting area countour won't match.

1st gen Avalon XLS models have heated mirrors. The mirrors from the 1st gen Avalon look closer to matching the contour of a 3rd gen Camry (and it might just fit), but the leading edge looks more rounded.

However, there might be a solution.

It looks like these 2 models used the same glass, but different housing.

This ebay ad shows that this replacement glass will fit both models.

Take a sheet of paper, trace around your mirror glass. Then check around local import salvage yards to find out if any of them have a first gen Avalon XLS models.

If you find one, take your paper template to that yard, see if it matches the one from the Avalon XLS mirrors.

If it does, then swap out the glass on your mirrors from the Avalon mirrors. I'm sure you'll figure out a clever way to wire it.

I believe that the heated mirrors on the Avalons came on automatically when you selected the defrost mode on the climate control. That's how it works on the 97-01 Camry XLE models.

Personally I prefer a separate switch like on your VE5.

When did you get a Camry? I thought you'd always stick with Maximas?

I didn't even notice the frameless on the es300

I got the camry about a week ago. I do want to go back to a VE, but I haven't found one with an automatic for a price I can afford.
I sold the VE5 because I don't know how to drive stick, and the body damage was worse than we originally thought.

know anyone with a VE A/T that will trade

I actually still have my heated mirrors and controls from my 2nd max
