When i start the car cold in the morning [ 0 deg celcius ] it takes a few seconds more to turn over. I warm it up for 2 minutes maximum and then drive off. After car warms up fully I step on it and it hesitates, at 30 km, 40 km or 50 km. And the gas mileage is awful compared to summer time driving here in Ontario Canada. I still using regular unleaded octane gas. Dont know if I require a tune up, O2 sensors, if theres a vacuum leak. I have original plugs, and changed oil 1,000 km ago and air filter 2000 km ago.
Whats wrong with my Camry ? I can have them check it out at Toyota under waranty right ?
ive never bought a car new so i dont know if they cover it under warrenty its a driveability issue and starting issue so they definately should.
------------DIY-------------
-first ide try a tank of premium with some fuel injector cleaner.
*do not put too much in ive had to change a friends injectors becuase he was running too much through the system and it ate the fuel injector nozzles(poor fuel atomization=no power +hard starts)*
-then ide say check spark plugs, coil, distributor, and timing
the dealership should see if OBDII spits out n e trouble codes
The antifreeze is a little low and I should top it off.
Using Premium gas is always better for response and I have used it, but I've been running regular unleaded all year round except for the occasional Premium blend, so i know what the car should feel like on regular, and its not performing well.
I cleaned the throttle body 12,000km ago and added Fuel Injector cleaner 10,000 km ago
I checked 3 front spark plugs 12,000 km ago I have NKG Iridium, but reluctant to remove hard to reach rear plugs.
How is timing checked on the Camry 1 MZ ?
^Yeah, when I had the stock airbox in, I was getting very very slight throttle lag. Maybe half a second or so. But after I put in the Injen SRI, its virtually gone.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

No shiet, my girls' solara had the same problem with the v6, then she got it flashed and threw the injen on.......
The car is different from the summer time and I know something is wroung with it. Reflashing the ECU may make the difference, but this is a different problem and its happening now. I gotta check my plugs and again I ask the question:
dont you have timing marks on the crankshaft pully? if so you should just hook up an inductive timing light to the no.1 spark plug and adjust it for the engine speed then shine it on the crank pully(while its running) and when the light flashes like a strobe light you should see the timing mark on the pully aligh with the tab right next to it.
*note im not sure how to adjust an inductive timing light having never used one b4*
What do you you adjust to align the marks. Ive done this on older cars when the the distributor was turned to achieve the correct timing marks on the crank, but I dont think timing can be adjusted so easily in these newer cars using this method?
Checking wires and plugs this weekend. Cant stand this hesitation. Also takes twice as long to start car whether its cold or hot. Gotta figure this out.......
Checked front 3 plugs NGK IFR6A-11 Iridium type, and they look ok, except for the white color on the ground electrode. I'm to check the rear ones tonight. I'll let you know what I found.
