cold start surging
This morning i went to take out my camry from the garage to put my dads truck to change it'e oil and after about 30 seconds of warming up I puty the shifter in reverse and the engine almost stalled, the rpms went from 1500 to 400 in about a second and a half then it went back up to 1100 rpm. Then i back it up then turn it off and turn it back on, then as soon as i put it in reverse it does the same thing again and while it was in reverse the engine sounded like it was firing like crap not shaking but like it was bearly getting fuel. it not the fuel filter or the fuel pump because they were changed not long ago. But i dod suspect tha it has to do whi the recent brand of fuel i changed to because before i used to buy from a chevron station that i suspected did not really have techron in their fuel and that i was not getting the 91 octane fuel that i was buying because all of the gas stations gas prices are all the same! i am not kiding, all fuel grades are the exact same price. so the last week i decided to change to shell v power and man about a week after i swhiched to v power i noticed a big difference in power. A few weeks ago i made a thread about my car not down shifting like it should when i floored it, well it turned out to be the fuel i was buying from that cheveron station. not when i am going about 25 or 30 mph and i press the gas pedal about 15% the over drive goes out and when i press the pedal all the way down it actually down shifted down one gear. So i now know that it was fuel related. bit could the new fuel be the cause of this surging? I'll do the same tommorow to see if it happens again.
