Are you trying to remove the passenger side axel?, If so you already removed that big snap ring and the retaining bolt, it should slide out, but the problem is that the axle bearing bonds together to the motor mount, making it really hard to remove, so what i did was remove the axle with the motor mount and then i was able to seperate them, with a liltle help with the tourch on the work bench, the when i re-installed the new axle i applyed anti-sieze on the bearing b4 i slide it in.

I tried removing the rear motor mount for pass side axel on 94 Cam and could not clear the pins on the mount going into the engine, not enough play on axel going into trans. I ended up disassembling the old shaft at the inner boot and replacing with new axel to this point. Since my problem were the boots themselves, no problem. This pass. side axel is a real b**ch. The axel carrier bearing rusts itself to the support (rear engine mount). I also have a 2000 Solara, and it also has this design.
vinscamandgn: How did you clear the rear engine mount pins?

i think i pryed against the mount itself to gain the clearence. it was a bitch and i would never wanna do it again. but as my luck has it i'll be removing the axle to remove the rear motor mount, but i did put anti-sieze on the bearing, so im hoping it comes out with ease.

I was thinking that if you remove the carrier bearing locking bolt, PB blast the carrier bearing, and drive the car around for a while, you might get lucky and have the bearing start to spin in the carrier. It would now be relatively easy to remove the carrier bearing/axel since the rust weld has been broken...just an idea...
