I need help! EFI fuse keeps blowing out.

Ive got a 95 v6 LE and for some odd reason, today the fuses on the EFI fuse port keeps blowing out. I cant even get my car started. Everytime i replaced the the efi fuse with a new one and turn to acc on the ignition, it blows right out. I desparately need help right now so what should i do and what could be the problem?

Thanks guys.

Not trying to insult your intelegence but are you sure your using the right size/amp fuse? I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've done something like that.

hmmm... ???
Try calling the dealership and speak with one of the techs.
I've got a friend who works at Toyota here in St.L, I'll call him too and see if he's got any ideas.

Hey,
I called Toyota and Scott, agreeing w/several other techs, said it could be anything from a simple pinched wire to a short in the computer. Big problem is that there so many different things wired in to the EFI comp that you'll prolly need to let a Toyota tech trace it. He said if you do it yourself BE CAREFULL! Its very easy to accidently fry the comp and its $1200 not including labor just for the replacement.

I trust these guys, Scott helped me drink beer while I worked on my Monte Carlo, he knows how capable I am with wrenching so he wouldn't try to hussle me into making an unessesary trip to the dealer.

GOOD LUCK!

hey man thanks for your help! i really appreciated the info. i asked the guys at a local auto parts store and they say its most likely a shorten wire somewhere in the engines electric system, bad distributor, or countless other things. so now i guess im going to have my car towed to the dealership to get it checked out. But thanks for your help man it saved me some hassle and helped me alot!
